Matangi

Matangi is the ninth Mahavidya — the outcaste goddess who grants mastery over speech, music, and knowledge. She is often called the 'Ucchista Chandalini' — the one who accepts leftover food — symbolising her transcendence of ritual purity rules. She is considered a tantric form of Saraswati, but far more esoteric and direct. Artists, musicians, writers, and orators invoke Matangi for mastery over their crafts.
