धान्य लक्ष्मी
Ashta Lakshmi · Sacred Day: Friday
Dhanya Lakshmi is the goddess of agricultural abundance (dhanya = grain, crops, harvest). She represents the wealth of food, nourishment, and fertility of the land. She is invoked by farmers and households seeking a bountiful harvest and the blessing of always having food on the table. In agricultural India, Dhanya Lakshmi is the most tangible form of prosperity — bread on the table means the goddess is present in the home. She is especially worshipped during harvest festivals.
Eight arms holding stalks of rice or wheat, lotuses, a mace, a sugar cane, a plough, and in abhaya and varada mudras. Seated on a red lotus. Green or golden complexion.
