विघ्नहर
Ashta Vinayaka
Vighnahar of Ozar is the destroyer of obstacles — the seventh Ashta Vinayaka. According to legend, the demon Vighnasura was disrupting the yajnas of the sages until Ganesha defeated him. The demon begged for mercy and asked that Ganesha take the name Vighneshwara — lord of obstacles — and settle at this spot. The temple is on the banks of the Kukadi river near Ozar. It has a golden dome added by Chimaji Appa, commander of the Peshwa army, after a military victory. The temple is considered especially effective for removing obstacles in new ventures.
East-facing left-trunk idol with eyes of precious stones (rubies), a diamond set in the forehead, and a large belly. Ornate gold decoration. Accompanied by Riddhi and Siddhi. The temple sanctum is gilded with gold.
