भुवनेश्वरी
Dasha Mahavidya
Bhuvaneshwari is the fourth Mahavidya — 'the queen of the worlds' (bhuvana = worlds, ishvari = queen). She is the goddess of space and the physical universe itself. Her body is the cosmos, her consciousness the space in which all beings live and move. Her worship grants freedom, expansiveness, and the dissolution of narrow constricting identities. She represents the gentlest and most benevolent of the Mahavidyas — the Mother who creates, supports, and holds the universe with love.
Radiant golden complexion, four arms holding a noose, a goad, and showing abhaya and varada mudras. Seated on a red lotus. Three eyes. A crescent moon on her forehead. Wearing red.
